Our
History
The
radio program Women Speak Up was the first radio program produced
by CEMINA. Launched in 1990, it soon became a national reference.
Due to its innovative format and content, the Women Speak Up program
became a model for other radio programs related with the topic of
defense of the women rights in Brazil. The program has been, since
then, a reference for its audience and an achievement for all those
involved in social movements in the national arena.
Throughout
the 12 years of its broadcasting, the Women Speak Up program played
an important role in the democratization of communication, raising
the voices and the themes that are not always spread in the major
means of communication. The success of the program was due not only
to the content and objective of informing about the citizens rights
of women and men, but also due to the way it was presented –
loose, colloquial and dynamic, considered, therefore, a pioneering
approach in the State of Rio de Janeiro. |
